My Story

Sasha Rionda first found a home in the spotlight as a child in Mexico City. In 1990, she learned a lot about the world of entertainment and about patience, sitting for hours in a makeup chair to be transformed into a “mutant child” for the Arnold Schwarzenegger film “Total Recall.” That opportunity set Sasha on a path that has now brought her to Atlanta, where she balances hosting duties on The Weather Channel’s Local Now, the weekly show “Coffee With America,” acting roles and salsa dancing any chance she gets!

Sasha moved to America with her family as a teenager, and quickly got involved in media. Her first hosting job was for a program called “Zoom” on Cinecanal, profiling movie news and the latest releases. In that role, she interviewed celebrities like Robin Williams, Pierce Brosnan, Nicholas Cage, Halle Berry and Susan Saradon. During that time, she was also a guest-host on “Wild on E!” for the E! Entertainment Network, Australia. While on location and always up for adventure, Sasha swam with sharks and tried her hand at cricket. Her fearless energy caught the attention of CNN, and Sasha became the host of “The Music Room” on CNN International, interviewing such big names as Moby, Usher, Britney Spears, Dirty Vegas, Remy Shand and many more.
Sasha took her talents to Cincinnati to host a Spanish language program called “Nuestro Rincón” on Cincinnati’s WKRC, where she interviewed former Mexican President Vicente Fox. Through that popular program, she quickly became a sought after host and emcee throughout the region. That exposure led to the opportunity to host “Detalles con Sasha” on CNN en Español, traveling throughout Latin America and the United States to highlight the best of Latin culture. Sasha was able to use her degree in Architecture and Design to bring special insight into Latin design and architecture in that series.
